LONE STAR OF THE RED ENSIGN

Starting with a T2  a type of American tanker built during the Second World War, Caltex, an American oil company, turned to the United Kingdom to increase its fleet of tankers by creating Overseas Tankship (UK) Limited.
As the number of ships increased the size of ships increased also. Later Caltex handed over the company to its affiliate Texaco when it became Texaco Overseas Tankship Limited.
